Garden of Love

ALL-ENTINE’S DAY:

Celebrating the holiday with those who are important to you, not just romantic partners.

How to participate?

WHERE: At the entrance of Quarry road along side The Field of Strength

WHEN: For the month of February, 2022

WHAT: Bring your earth-y valentines, plant them, hang them, take love home!

Accept love—Find love in the garden, take your favorite(s) home for you or for your friend(s).

Give love—Any time in February, bring your own nature Valentines to share with others.

What is this?

Rather than Valentine’s Day being one more day when single people feel isolated and lonely—just two months after Christmas—let’s do like children in younger grades with everyone giving valentines for all.

Let’s make it a day of friendship so everyone gets to feel the high vibe!

These stones were gathered from Pescadero State Beach just for the Garden of Love. Please take some home, paint them, bring them back to share. If you see one that speaks to you, take love home in your pocket!

Where did it come from?

“Let’s add hearts to your Field of Strength,” my friend and Brisbane resident Theresa Jimenez said to me a couple of weeks ago. Just three days later, an editor for 1-800-flowers wrote to me—as the author of “The Language of Gifts”—asking my thoughts around an article he was writing for their blog on Allentine’s day. You can read the article here where he quotes me.

I loved the idea so much and want to offer it to our Brisbane town.

Thank you, Theresa Jimenez and Zoë Heimdal for making the first set for the Garden of Love with me.
